How to Pick a College

Make a list of things you like and dislike about the colleges you want to compare. Be sure to consider things like campus safety, cost, distance from home, and dorm quality. Research your degree of interest and ask for advice from a student or recent graduate of that program. Write down your goals and think about which college would help you best achieve those goals.  Ask yourself if there is anything else you want to do during your college experience, along with your education. This includes things like athletic opportunities, involvement in College GameDay, membership in clubs and support groups, and amenities the college has to offer. Be sure to make a campus visit to each college you are considering. Taking advantage of an orientation day will give you the full experience.
Hello, everyone! My name is Olivia Harrison, Miss West Virginia Collegiate America 2024. Part of my mission this year is to support college students in their endeavors and to offer help along the way. Since I am a college student, I know the many struggles students may face. This page can be used as a resource to find encouragement, help, and mentorship throughout the education process. Let's go get that degree! 🎓
